MY FIRST DISNEY WORLD TRIP

As Bob and I planned our vacation for 2010. Places we were discussing were Red wood forest, Grand Canyon, or even Yellowstone.
As we were discussing these options a good friend of mine, Carol, said that we should go to Disney World in Florida.
I never thought of that since the kids have grown and moved out. That always sounded like a kids vacation.
Carol Zlata Sept 1, 2010
Carol said, "Nope. And I think I can help you out. My grandson works there. I haven't seen him in years, but he would love to show you around." ARE YOU KIDDING! We could go to Disney World and have a personal tour guide that REALLY knows the in's and out's of Disney! That would be so Cool!.
So I told her that IF she could - I'd love for her to go with us.
She really got excited!
And got on her phone to start making calls to her grandson. We normally take our vacations the first part of September because that's Bob's birthday. And he loves to celebrate his birthday BIG ... Arrangements were made for September, and since it was already the last of July, we had to get planning.

We decided to drive ... it would be the cheapest way to get there, and Carol said she didn't mind riding in a car from Oklahoma to Florida.
I mapped out the trip, packed our bags and the 3 of us headed out.

This is a picture of us waiting for Bob to get back into the car after eating breakfast in Alabama. We were super excited to get back on the road - We would be arriving later today!

Carol and Tammy waiting for Bob to get in the car so we can go to DISNEY WORLD!

The closer we got we started seeing the signs for different Disney areas.

If we had decided to fly to Disney we could have rode one of the shuttle buses ...

I wasn't for sure which hotel we were staying in since Carol had made all the arrangements with her grandson. We stopped first at the All Star Music and found out he was able to get us in All star Movie instead.
There was a shop to buy your mickey ears right in the lobby ... Lots of Disney pictures on the wall and things to look at. I wanted to look around, but we needed to get to our hotel and meet Carol's grandson.

So we headed on over to the All Star Movies ... SO COOL!

Found another shopping center to look around in while we waited for Carols grandson (I'll call him B ... since he works at Disney, I don't want to get him in any trouble)

Now remember ... Carol hasn't seen B in a long long time. She was pacing the floor and just couldn't wait! I was so excited for her ... and super glad she was able to come with us. This will probable be the only time I get to go to Disney and I'm tickled I get to share it with my friend.

HE MADE IT!!! HUGGSSS ALL AROUND!!!

Our room was so cute ... you definitely knew you were in Disney! I know Disney has a lot of different rooms to choose from, but this was a last minute trip (sort of) and I had NOT saved for a trip to Disney World. So it's a trip on a budget! Big time...

We got Bob's Birthday button so that he could wear it while we were there. And a packet with information about the parks and stuff. I actually never really looked at it since we had B there to show/tell us everything we'd need to know or even want to know.

After checking in ... I walked around and took pictures of EVERYTHING I could think of! Like I said I probably wouldn't ever get to come back to Disney ever again. It seems like such a dream vacation.

Here are some shots around All Star Movie Resort:

I kept walking around and found out I was at All Star Music Resort:

And do you know ... in no time at all and I was walking around All Star Sports Resort too! These 3 resorts are really close together and have so many places to pose your family for photos!

B suggested we visit Magic Kingdom on day 1 ... He had a surprise for us at the end of the day. SO OFF TO BED ... probably wont sleep a wink! (giggle, giggle)

Next morning ... it's Friday September 10, 2010 and I found a little something to eat and then caught the free shuttle to Magic Kingdom. It was a EMH Day (which stands for Extra Magic Hours). so we got in early (B knew exactly how to get in, which lines were fastest and BOOM ... There we were!)

We watched the parades and had such a great time
Just an FYI here ... Although you are going to want to get the perfect shot of the castle like this

Don't be too disappointed if all your shots are more like this ... the crowds are amazing! Even for September (which is supposed to be a slow month!)

I wanted to ride ALL the rides ... Hee! Hee! You just feel like a little kid again!

It didn't seem like long and I started noticing that the Castle was changing colors...

B said it was time to find a seat ... The surprise he had for us was about to begin.

FIREWORKS !!! YEA !!! LOVE IT!!!

Totally tuckered out ... we head back to our room using the free shuttle's and

We had a towel animal waiting for us when we got back to the room ...

END OF DAY 1 at Magic Kingdom
